And it’s not money, fame, or time
Every entrepreneur I know craves this one thing,
And you’d be surprised to know that it’s not fame, fortune, or actually freedom.
It’s control.
Control feels predictable,
Control feels like ownership.
And we like ownership…a lot.
We own our ambition like a badge of honor,
We carry ideas with a certain level of arrogance that has other people think we’re a little bit crazy,
We like knowing that WE are the ONES that stacked the cards in our favor.
But this need for control gets in the way of the one thing we need most:
Progress.
It shows up in different ways for different people.
You procrastinate on executing your ideas because you need “perfect timing.”
You take on too many clients even though you know you don’t have the capacity to serve them.
You rob your team of the opportunity to learn from their mistakes because you “can do it better.”
But yet you and I both know that growth doesn’t come from holding on,
