Hmmmm I believe if you select the markdown step to be html it may help translate over the links (which is a big priority in my opinion). If you know a little html code, you can write in your google docs <b></b> for bold tags and probable heading html tags to help with formatting. It's an extra part you would need to do in google docs. BUT, it's worth a try. I haven't tested it out personally, let me know how it goes!
