Pre P.S. Watch this newsletters deep dive here.

For a long time I thought that:

Working hard = more money.

More money =

Staying up until 12am,

Going “all in,”

Posting 24/7.

If I didn’t “hustle,” then I didn’t earn my right to make money online.

It’s hard to not work hard, when you’ve been taught to do so at a young age.

My father immigrated from Guatemala to America when he was 16

…with nothing.

He needed to work hard.

He needed to graduate high-school.

He needed to send money to my grandmother to pay for rent.

He needed to make sure his immigration was not for nothing.

There is a time when hustle is necessary.

I grew up with a lot of “can’t make it to your talent shows sweetie, I have to work.”

10 year old me never grasped the concept of work.

But I grew up thinking that work was more important than me.

I didn’t understand that he made the sacrifice, so that we didn’t have to.
